Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, the TA supports the Government of Pakistan in advancing public sector pension reforms by preparing a comprehensive reform plan, facilitating the shift to a new defined contribution pension scheme, and improving governance of the existing defined benefit system. It strengthens the federal pension agency through capacity building, development of an ITbased account management system, and improved monitoring and reporting. The TA also enhances stakeholder engagement and financial literacy to ensure smooth implementation and longterm sustainability of pension reforms.

The TA financing amount is $575,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by the Technical Assistance Special Fund ($375,000 from TASF 8 and $200,000 from TASF-other sources) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
