According to the Bank’s website, this technical assistance (TA) supports the preparation and implementation of specific activities and interventions to broaden the ADB–PRC engagement as preparations begin for the country partnership strategy, 2026–2030. Findings from the TA will be useful in designing ADB’s new partnership with the PRC. The TA aims to provide policy advice, capacity development, and knowledge events to support and explore initiatives that create global and regional public goods, extending the benefits of the ADB–PRC partnership to other developing member countries (DMCs). Key TA outputs will include (i) an analysis on the PRC economy on topics of wider interest to Asia and the Pacific produced, (ii) technical advice and recommendations on green transition in DMCs prepared, and (iii) knowledge and learning on replication and demonstration lessons from ADB-financed projects in the PRC collected and disseminated.

The TA financing amount is $670,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF–other sources).
The government will provide counterpart support in the form of counterpart staff, access to data, and other in-kind contributions.
