As stated on the project disclosure page, the ADB will co-establish the regional Women in Transport Network' to promote women's leadership and employment in the transport sector through knowledge exchange events, tailored support and robust monitoring and learning framework. Developing member countries (DMCs) in the CWA region envisaged to benefit from this TA subproject are Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
PROJECT RATIONALE AND LINKAGE TO COUNTRY/REGIONAL STRATEGY
Women's participation remains low and largely static, with men continuing to dominate higher paying engineering and managerial roles, while most women are concentrated in administrative, sales and service positions. The network will provide the space to develop champions who will lead initiatives for women's increased employment, professional growth, and leadership in the male dominated sector. It will also provide a venue for sharing of good practices on policies and programs that support women's involvement in the sector.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main.
