According to the Bank’s website, the knowledge and support small-scale technical assistance (TA) will carry out new research and produce knowledge products that will assess the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in developing Asia's economic growth and development. AI, which leverages and builds upon digital technology, has emerged as a transformative technology that could fundamentally reshape the global economy and society. In particular, there are growing hopes that the recent advent of generative AI can lift productivity growth and promote inclusive and sustainable development. The outputs are the following: (1) assessment of DMCs' readiness for AI adoption conducted; (2) analysis of AI's contribution to economic growth and development prepared; and (3) policy recommendations and knowledge sharing promoted.
