According to the bank's website, the project will "support the identification and preparation of sovereign-financed energy projects by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Indonesia, carry out due diligence, and strengthen the capacity of executing and implementing agencies to effectively manage and sustain energy sector projects. It will help improve project quality at entry and ensure a high level of implementation readiness. The TA aligns with the government's priority to scale up dispatchable renewable energy sources, such as geothermal and hydropower, along with transmission infrastructure that will enable future renewable energy deployment and enhance grid flexibility for integrating more variable renewable energy sources. It will be adaptable to support priority investment needs aligned with the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of the State Electricity Corporation (Perusahaan Listrik Negara [PLN]) and the National Energy Policy (Kebijakan Energi Nasional), ensuring targeted delivery of critical infrastructure investments. The TA is included in the country pipeline for 2025 approval and is consistent with ADB's Strategy 2030 Midterm Review, with a strategic focus on climate action".

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
