Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, this technical assistance (TA) will support Asian Development Bank (ADB) developing member countries (DMCs) in advancing climate-smart urban development. It will assist India, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, and their selected cities, at both national and subnational levels, in scaling up climate actions through the development of city climate action plans (CCAPs). CCAPs will facilitate city-wide climate risk assessment and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions profiling, establishment of climate goals and targets, identification of priority climate actions, and required resources, including exploring innovative climate financing solutions for climate-smart urban development.

The TA financing amount is $2,000,000, of which (i) $1,000,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the Republic of Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund; and (ii) $1,000,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the Urban Resilience Trust Fund under the Urban Financing Partnership Facility, both to be administered by ADB.
