According to the ADB, the project involves the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of a 500 MW Solar PV and 500 megawatt hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS), transmission lines and a 220 kilovolt (kV) pooling station. The project is one of the first utility-scale renewable energy projects with battery component in Uzbekistan. The Project will help unlock Uzbekistan's significant untapped solar resource potential and provide sustainable electricity for the country's economic development.
