According to the Bank’s website, the technical assistance (TA) will support the development of childcare policies and services across Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on the Cook Islands, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Philippines, and Vanuatu. This will be the first regional TA of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) that is focused on formal childcare provision, which will provide research, policy dialogue, and capacity building to support the introduction and scaling up of quality, affordable, and accessible childcare for 06-year-olds across Asia and the Pacific and to accelerate socioeconomic and educational benefits for caregivers and children.
The TA financing amount is $900,000, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund ($362,000 from TASF 7 and $538,000 from TASF-other sources).

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main.
