Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the Bank’s website, under the first activity of the SEFF, ADB will finance (i) development of feasibility study for the construction of the proposed new Tbilisi international; (ii) social and environmental safeguards assessment; and (iii) capacity building activities for the executing and implementing agencies (EA/IA). The project was identified and proposed for further study as part of Georgia's airport sector assessment conducted by ADB under the TA 6707-GEO. The new airport masterplan is currently being developed under the same TA. The proposed project is part of the government strategy to enhance Georgia's connectivity and develop the country as an important regional transport and logistics hub. The project also aligns with the crosscutting priority of regional integration under ADB's CPS 20242028. Inclusion of the project under the SEFF will ensure sufficient financing is allocated and the project is prepared for the construction phase if the feasibility is confirmed.
