Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, the proposed regional technical assistance (TA) will support evaluation knowledge sharing and evaluation capacity development of ADB's developing member country (DMC) officials and institutions prioritizing countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) and countries that are members of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program.

The specific activities to be supported through this TA are (i) the Asian Evaluation Week (AEW), the signature annual knowledge-sharing event that has been jointly hosted by the Independent Evaluation Department (IED) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute (AFDI), Ministry of Finance, People's Republic of China, since 2016, and (ii) the Shanghai International Program for Development Evaluation Training (SHIPDET), a training program for mid- and senior government officials in the region that is jointly hosted in Shanghai by IED and AFDI. The TA is part of IED's partnership with AFDI to promote knowledge sharing and development evaluation capacity.
