According to the Bank’s website, the technical assistance cluster will help prepare and carry out due diligence for ADB-financed energy projects and programs in the Philippines. It will contribute not only to implementing key priorities of ADB's country partnership strategy for the Philippines, 20242029, but to building up energy sector pipeline to achieve ADB's climate finance target of $100 billion by 2030. The TAC is the best fit approach in response to evolving investment needs in renewables, transmission, demand side energy efficiency, and universal electricity access in the Philippines. It will be scalable to seamlessly accommodate new priority investments consistent with the Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) 20232050 to timely deliver ADB funding assistance. It will initially support (i) Geothermal De-risking Facility and (ii) Smart and Green Transmission Grid for Offshore Wind, which are currently programmed for commitment in 2025 and 2026 (standby), respectively.
Grant (Technical Assistance Special Fund): US$ 1.50 million

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
