Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

According to the Bank’s website, the proposed regional technical assistance (TA) will support demand-driven needs, capacity and systems assessments, knowledge and advisory services, and project preparation and implementation support for human and social development (HSD) projects in two developing member countries (DMCs) in Central Asia: Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This will include support to health, education, and social protection projects as well as other HSD-related initiatives that may be proposed by other DMCs in Central Asia (i.e. the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan), including on public-private partnerships, climate change, innovative financing, technology-enabled solutions, and multi-sectoral approaches.

Early Warning System Project Analysis
For a project with severe or irreversible impacts to local community and natural resources, the Early Warning System Team may conduct a thorough analysis regarding its potential impacts to human and environmental rights.

The TA financing amount is $1.5 million, which will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF 7: $500,000 and TASF-other sources: $1.0 million).
