As stated by the ADB, the project involves the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of a wind-solar hybrid renewable energy plant in Andhra Pradesh, India, to be connected to the interstate transmission system and comprising 250.8 MW of wind capacity, 435 MW of alternating current (587 MW direct current) solar capacity, and a battery energy storage system with power capacity of 173 MW and energy capacity of 415 megawatt-hours. The facilities will deliver assured power supply of 300 MW per hour during a maximum of 4 peak hours in a day and an assured minimum baseload supply during nonpeak hours to Solar Energy Corporation Limited. The project is required to be commissioned by 27 October 2026. ADB funds will only be used to finance the construction of the solar project, battery energy storage system and related infrastructure for the solar and BESS.
