According to the Bank’s website, the proposed Sustainable and Resilient Growth Program aims to strengthen the ability of the public sector, private sector, and communities in Fiji to respond to shocks and disasters and the growing threat of climate change by enhancing sustainable and resilient growth. Building on the progress achieved under the Sustained Private Sector-Led Growth Reform Program (2017–2020) and the Sustainable and Resilient Recovery Program (2020–2022), this program continues support to the country’s medium-term reform agenda as the economy recovers from the severe impacts of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and adapts to the growing threat of climate change.a It is aligned with Fiji’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2017–2036 objective of achieving inclusive socioeconomic development by (i) improving public financial management (PFM), (ii) strengthening the environment for private sector development, and (iii) enhancing access to services and climate and disaster resilience.
