According to the ADB, the technical assistance will promote sustainable and conversion-free aquaculture and improve the export performance of key marine commodities in Southeast Asia through policies and technical interventions, including research, capacity development, and knowledge support. The TA will focus on shrimp and seaweed, which are important commodities in the region. It will:
(i) help mitigate the impacts of shrimp aquaculture feed in Indonesia by promoting accountability and transparency in the feed supply chain; and
(ii) improve seaweed cultivation and value generation among seaweed farmers in Timor-Leste and help increase ecosystem services and ocean health.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
