According to the Bank’s website, the Government of Bangladesh formulated the National Social Security Strategy (NSSS) in 2015 to provide a long-term vision of developing an inclusive social protection system. Aligned with the NSSS, Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided the first Strengthening Social Resilience Program (SSRP) in 2021 to enhance inclusiveness and responsiveness of social protection in Bangladesh. The first SSRP helped the government increase the coverage of social protection, improve financial inclusion of disadvantaged people, and strengthen response to diverse protection needs. Building on the first SSRP's achievements, the proposed program will further support the government in enhancing protective and preventive social protection, aligned with Phase II Action Plan of NSSS (2021-2026).

If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
