According to the ADB, the project will improve food security, enhance agricultural livelihoods, and improve income-generating activities and adaptive capacity of highly vulnerable communities in Armenia. The project will:
(i) implement climate-sensitive energy solutions in Shirak and Tavush provinces;
(ii) increase opportunities to access logistics hubs in targeted project provinces;
(iii) enhance capacities of the Ministry of Economy for climate-smart adaptation planning.
The outcome of the project will be strengthened resilience of vulnerable smallholder farmers through climate-smart agriculture and livelihood diversification. The project will contribute to enhanced food security enhanced and sustainable rural development built on innovation and climate-resilient technologies.
