Project Description

According to the Bank’s website, the objective of this project is to support the preparation of the CAREC Corridor 3 Manas-Osh Road Reconstruction Project (Bishkek-Osh road, section Manas - Uzgen bypass road - Osh)

This Activity will prepare the CAREC Corridor 3 Manas-Osh Road Reconstruction Project (Bishkek-Osh road, section Manas - Uzgen bypass road - Osh. It will finance consulting services to carry out a feasibility study, detailed engineering design, technical due diligence, and the preparation of project documentation, including safeguard, gender, poverty, bidding, and climate risk assessments. These preparatory steps will ensure that the project is technically sound, environmentally and socially compliant, and ready for future ADB financing and implementation, thereby contributing to improved mobility, trade, and economic integration in the region.

Early Warning System Project Analysis
For a project with severe or irreversible impacts to local community and natural resources, the Early Warning System Team may conduct a thorough analysis regarding its potential impacts to human and environmental rights.

The Activity will be financed by a subgrant not exceeding $1.00 million from ADB’s Special Funds resources (Asian Development Fund). ADB will finance the expenditures in relation to consulting services and recurrent administration costs (i.e., project administration costs including project audits costs, software installation and other incidental costs directly related to the administration of the project).
