According to the Bank’s website, the technical assistance (TA) will support the preparation and due diligence for two upcoming investment projects for addressing marine plastic waste, and climate-resilient coastal ecosystems and biodiversity for Indonesia and the Philippines, namely: (i) INO 57018-001: Reducing Marine Debris subprogram 2 (RMDP2); and (ii) PHI 58379-001: Marine Ecosystems and Blue Economy Program subprogram 1 (MEBEP1). The TA will also promote plastic circular economy for difficult plastics in Indonesia through upstream research, capacity development, regional collaboration, and knowledge sharing through the 'Plastik Sulit: Accelerating Circular Economy for Difficult Plastics in Indonesia project.

The TA financing amount is $8,323,000, of which (i) $500,000 will be financed on a grant basis by ADB’s Technical Assistance Special Fund (TASF-other sources), (ii) $7,123,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), (iii) $500,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the Ocean Resilience and Coastal Adaptation (ORCA) Trust Fund under the ORCA Financing Partnership Facility, and (iv) $200,000 will be financed on a grant basis by the United Kingdom–ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (UK-ACGF) Trust Fund, and administered by ADB.
