As stated by the EBRD, the project consists of the provision of a senior loan of up to USD 25 million in favour of Johnvents Foods Limited and Noble-Eagle Industries Limited, two subsidiaries of Johnvents HoldCo Limited and together with its subsidiaries "Johnvents Group" to finance the Borrowers' investment program in Nigeria.
The project will finance the introduction of modern production equipment, which will enhance the operating profile of the Borrowers. These investments, alongside related working capital financing and a strong operating model, will lead to competitiveness improvements and enable the operational performance of the Borrowers to go to international best performance standards. In parallel, the Borrowers will continue strengthening their food safety management systems and align these with international best practices in food safety and quality assurance. By 2027, Noble-Eagle will aim to obtain the FSSC 22000 certification, an internationally accredited standard which is not widespread in the agribusiness sector in Nigeria.
As stated by the EBRD, the Bank is participating in a larger USD 110 million facility coordinated by British International Investment alongside several other DFIs and commercial banks. In aggregate, the facility will finance the Borrowers' investment and expansion program, including USD 70 million of capital expenditures and USD 40m of working capital needs.
As sated by the EBRD, Johnvents Group is a Nigerian vertically integrated agribusiness group. It was founded in 2014 by entrepreneur John (Adedamola) Alamu, the Group's MD and 100% shareholder. The Group is engaged in farming, primary processing (mostly cocoa), soft commodity trading (sesame, soybean and other), food production (cocoa-based beverages, bottled water, confectionary, edible oils and other), animal feed production and other.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
You can contact the PCM at: pcm@ebrd.com or you can submit a complaint online using an online form at: http://www.ebrd.com/eform/pcm/complaint_form?language=en
