According to the Bank’s website, the project consists of the provision of an equity investment of up to USD 8 million in favour of Ventures Platform Pan-African Fund II, L.P. The project will form part of the Bank's Early-Stage Innovation Facility II, a EUR 200 million facility through which the EBRD invests in early-stage venture capital funds.
The Fund will make equity and equity-related investments in early-stage technology companies in Nigeria and across the African continent, with a significant focus on EBRD's Countries of Operations.
Categorised FI (ESP 2024). Ventures Platform, a new client of the EBRD, has the capacity to implement the EBRD's Environmental and Social Requirements (ESRs) 2, 4, and 9. Investments made by the Fund are expected to be of low environmental and social risk (E&S).
An equity investment of up to USD 8 million.
Total Project Cost: USD 75 million
The Fund will be managed by Ventures Platform, a company incorporated under the laws of Guernsey and led by two partners: Kola Aina, and Dotun Olowoporoku.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
