According to the Bank’s website, the knowledge and support technical assistance (KSTA) will support Operational Priority 1 of Strategy 2030 by improving care for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), which will contribute to reduced morbidity, mortality, and out-of-pocket expenses related to healthcare; hence reducing impoverishment and increasing productivity. The TA will be conducted regionally, with a focus on developing member countries with a high burden of NCDs. It will increase knowledge and best practices and capacity to formulate and implement policies, stimulate capacity increase, and improve uptake of innovative technologies, all for increased NCD management at primary care level in underserved areas, contributing to universal health coverage.
