As stated on the project disclosure page, the EBRD is considering providing a loan to Kosit a.s, a vertically integrated waste management company in Slovakia to finance construction and operation of the new modern Waste-to-Energy facility ("K3"). The new facility will be located adjacent to the two existing Waste-to-Energy lines owned and operated by the Company.
Information on the investment amount is not provided at the time of disclosure.
As stated on the company's LinkedIn profile, KOSIT was established in 2001. KOSIT is a technologically innovative company providing professional services in the field of waste management for the municipal, industrial and commercial sector, but also for individual customers. It is one of the most significant services providers in Slovakia dealing with this demanding and socially sensitive industry. Nowadays several companies with over 1300 employees belong to KOSIT Group. Except for comprehensive waste management services for both the public and the commercial sector, KOSIT also provides services in the field of summer and winter road maintenance, landscaping, as well as consultancy related to environmental legislation.
Shareholders of the company: WOOD & CO. (95%) and City of Košice (5%). Wood & Company is a leading independent investment bank in the Central and Eastern European region, with more than half a billion euros under management. One of the target areas of Wood & Co. investments is waste management, with an aim to promote progressive and environmentally friendly forms of waste management.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
