According to the Bank’s website, the proposed program will support India to consolidate and strengthen its pandemic preparedness and response (PPR) capability through a multipronged and cross-sectoral approach across central and sub-national governments. The related policy actions will lead to improved institutional capacity and mechanisms for infrastructure planning and management in the health sector and will raise India's ability to prevent and mitigate the impact of future public health emergencies and complex systemic risks.
ADB will provide a $340 million PBL comprising two subprograms of $170 million each in FY2024 and FY2026 as part of the government’s financing strategy.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment.
