As stated by the EBRD, the project consists of the provision of a sovereign loan of up to EUR 30 million to the Republic of Kosovo for the benefit of the Regional Water Company Prishtina to finance the extension of the wastewater collection network and construction of a new wastewater treatment plan ("WWTP") in the Municipality of Podujeva. The Project will address critical wastewater treatment needs in Podujeva and will benefit an estimated 50,000 inhabitants.
The project objectives are:
(i) extension of the Company's wastewater network and construction of a new WWTP in the Municipality of Podujeva to collect and treat wastewater in accordance with the relevant EU environmental standards;
(ii) significant reduction of raw wastewater volumes and its associated pollutant loads that are discharged straight into the river and local freshwater resources.
The beneficiary of the Project is RWCP, a joint stock company, fully state-owned. The Company manages and operates the water and wastewater systems in eight municipalities in the Prishtina region.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
You can contact the PCM at: pcm@ebrd.com or you can submit a complaint online using an online form at: http://www.ebrd.com/eform/pcm/complaint_form?language=en
