As stated by the EBRD, the project consists of the provision of a EUR6 million senior secured loan to Mirzo Bobur LLC, to be disbursed in two tranches, for the expansion of its food production facility and coffee shop chain.
The project will finance the construction of a new food production facility that will enable the company to double its current production capacity, along with the purchase of state of the art bakery, pastry, and other food processing equipment. These investments are expected to enhance the borrower's competitive position in the coffee shop market and support a sustained improvement in profitability.
The Japan-EBRD Cooperation Fund supported the project by partially covering the legal due diligence costs, while EBRD Shareholder Special Fund contributed to the borrower's first time IFRS adoption and corporate governance implementation activities. Across all components, the borrower provided a 25 per cent cost contribution. In addition, the project is expected to benefit from a FINTECC grant of up to EUR70,000 to support the borrower's planned investments in energy efficient technologies
As stated by the EBRD, the borrower together with the guarantor (Afsona Makon LLC) and other related entities, forms the ABN MB Group, operating a network of 45 outlets comprising coffee shops, restaurants, and grab-and-go formats, alongside its own centralised food production facility.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
You can contact the PCM at: pcm@ebrd.com or you can submit a complaint online using an online form at: http://www.ebrd.com/eform/pcm/complaint_form?language=en
