According to the EBRD, the project consists of a EUR2.5 million senior secured term loan to establish a Polish campus for Kyiv Medical University ("KMU") in the Katowice area. The project supports KMU in providing its international students from 62 countries with access to quality and affordable education offered under the Ukrainian medical education curriculum.
The loan will finance the investments related to the acquisition and refurbishment of properties in Katowice area converting them into educational facilities with the objective of helping KMU relocating international students from Ukraine and the enrolment of new international students at its Polish campus.
As stated by the EBRD, Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is one of the largest private medical universities in Ukraine. With over 3,400 students enrolled across its Ukrainian and Polish campuses, KMU offers graduate and postgraduate programmes in general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacology, accredited by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
