This project will be able to (i) provide capacity building on financial management and climate-resilient business and operational planning and (ii) enhance the legal foundation of the business and operational framework between Binh Duong Water Environment Joint Stock Company (BIWASE) and the Binh Duong PPC.
The funding source will be the Republic of Korea e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund.
As stated by the ADB, BIWASE, originally founded in 1975 as a government-owned entity, started equitization in 2016, converted into a joint stock company in September 2016 and was listed on
the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange in July 2017. The company covers all key water demand centers in the province and is positioned as a natural monopoly providing essential services to Binh Duong province.
