Project Description
If provided by the financial institution, the Early Warning System Team writes a short summary describing the purported development objective of the project and project components. Review the complete project documentation for a detailed description.

As stated by the EBRD, the Pambukovica Dam Project is a multipurpose infrastructure initiative in western Serbia, primarily aimed at flood protection and secondarily at supporting irrigation and sediment retention.

The project involves the construction of a 27.5-meter-high earth embankment dam on the Ub River, approximately 21 km upstream from its confluence with the Tamnava River, spanning the cadastral municipalities of Pambukovica, Radusa, and Gola Glava. The dam will create a reservoir with a total volume of 8.15 million m3, enabling flood mitigation, irrigation of 2,225 hectares, ecological flow maintenance, and sediment control.

Phase 1 includes dam construction and road realignment, while Phase 2 (not currently financed by EBRD) envisions an irrigation network.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD

The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.

You can contact the PCM at: pcm@ebrd.com or you can submit a complaint online using an online form at: http://www.ebrd.com/eform/pcm/complaint_form?language=en

You can learn more about the PCM and how to file a complaint at: http://www.ebrd.com/work-with-us/project-finance/project-complaint-mechanism.html
