According to the EBRD, the project consists of the provision of a sovereign loan of up to EUR30 million to the Republic of Tajikistan to finance improvements of public transport infrastructure in the riverside area of Dushanbe. The project consists of: (i) the reconstruction of roads and a bridge over the Varzob river, (ii) the provision of infrastructure for sustainable mobility, including dedicated bus/trolleybus lanes, infrastructure for active mobility (walking and cycling) and electric mobility.
The Project will facilitate the City of Dushanbe to enhance the transportation infrastructure, notably through the promotion of sustainable mobility options, and provision for electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The Project is a second follow-on investment under the Dushanbe Green City Action Plan.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
