According to the bank website, "The proposed grant will provide reliable and sustainable electricity to the rural households through harnessing solar power which will contribute to poverty reduction, and gender equality. The main objective of the project is to demonstrate the viability of solar power through a pilot project and develop an enabling regulatory framework with due consideration given to the rural poverty."
