According to the Bank’s website, the project will finance the rehabilitation of cultural heritage assets (including heritage structures, surrounding streetscape, pedestrian paths, cultural trails) and urban upgrades for resilience (including green spaces, road rehabilitation, storm water drainage, engineering coastal protection, and multi-functional sport and recreation facilities) in high potential economic and tourism hot spots, including along the coastal areas of Georgia.
Secondary towns in coastal, rural and mountanous areas of Georgia suffer from lack of investment in urban upgrades, recreational facilities, and in cultural heritage preservation and valorization which can improve quality of life and economic opportunities expecially for younger generations.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main.
