According to the bank document, the project will address the development constraints and strengthen resilience in the six provinces including Binh Phuoc in the southeast region; Gia Lai, Kon Tum, and Lam Dong in the central highland region; and Quang Nam and Quang Ngai in the southcentral coastal region to achieve the following outcome: irrigated agriculture in selected provinces modernized and made climate change resilient.
There are three outputs with an estimated investment of $150 million:
(i) irrigation management services strengthened;
(ii) modern irrigation and drainage infrastructure developed; and
(iii) efficient on-farm water management practices adopted.
The project seeks to increase the sustainable agricultural and water productivity with the outcomes are expected to modernize the irrigated agriculture in selected provinces and strengthen the climate change resilience.
