As stated by the IFC, Genica is a biological agri-inputs Brazilian company focused on addressing agronomic challenges such as declining crop productivity, increased pest resistance and drought stress. Founded in 2015 in Piracicaba, in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Genica delivers bioinputs to farmers that include biopesticides, biostimulants and inoculants designed to restore soil fertility, enhance nutrient efficiency and reduce reliance on chemical pesticides. Key crops served include soybean, corn, sugarcane, cotton and pasture.
As stated by the IFC, the Company was co-founded by Fernando Reis, an agronomic engineer, and Prof. Dr. Carlos Labate from the University of Sao Paulo in Piracicaba. Since its founding in 2015, Genica has raised institutional capital from SP Ventures, Faro FIP, Mosaic, and Mitsubishi’s Agrex.
