According to the IFC, the proposed investment consists of up to US$30 million or up to 20% of the total commitments in Compartimento Deuda of Fondo de Deuda Corporativa Local Colombia - COPCO I (COPCO I or the Fund), a closed-end, COP-denominated private debt vehicle in Colombia that will provide long-term financing to medium and commercial enterprises (the Project). The Fund will be managed by VC Asesores de Inversion Colombia S.A.S (Vinci Compass Colombia or the GP), the Colombian subsidiary of Vinci Compass Investments Ltd. (Vinci Compass).
According to the IFC, Vinci Compass Colombia is the Colombian subsidiary of Vinci Compass, one of Latin America’s largest asset managers created in 1995 and an existing IFC relationship. In November 2024, Vinci Partners Investments Ltd. and Compass Group Asset Management Holding SLU announced a business combination to create Vinci Compass. Vinci Compass has 30 years of asset management experience in the region, managing US$66 billion in assets as of March 2026, and is majority owned by Gilberto Sayao and Alessandro Horta, the original founders of Vinci. Vinci Compass is a publicly traded company since January 2021 on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
COPCO I will invest primarily in senior secured structured debt denominated in Colombian pesos to middle-market corporates, including financing for growth and expansion plans, capex, refinancing and liability reprofiling (Target Assets).
