The proposed IFC investment involves an equity investment of up to US$25 million in The Reforestation Strategy (the “Strategy”), which will be managed by BTG Timberland Investment Group (“TIG”). This investment will allow IFC to get equity exposure to all the assets of the Strategy and would support the acquisition of land, the establishment of FSC-certified commercial tree farms, and restoration efforts to preserve and enhance biodiversity, primarily in Brazil, Chile and Uruguay (the “Project”).The financing is expected to enable the protection and restoration of 135,000 hectares of natural forest, the planting of 200 million trees on 135,000 hectares of degraded land, and the generation of more than 36 million forest carbon offsets over 15 years. The Strategy targets raising up to US$1 billion in equity.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IFC/MIGA
The Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an IFC or MIGA- financed project. If you submit a complaint to the CAO, they may assist you in resolving a dispute with the company and/or investigate to assess whether the IFC is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. If you want to submit a complaint electronically, you can email the CAO at CAO@worldbankgroup.org. You can learn more about the CAO and how to file a complaint at http://www.cao-ombudsman.org/
