According to ADB website, the proposed project builds upon ADB's strong and sustained work in the power sector of Bangladesh. Complementing the investment in the recently-approved Southwest Transmission Grid Expansion Project and Rupsha 800-Megawatt Combined Cycle Power Plant in the southwest region, the project will focus on addressing some of the remaining deficiencies in the transmission system to enhance power transfer capacity to the load centers in the southern and western zones. These interventions will also strengthen in-country power transfer capacity for increased cross-border power trade with India. In addition, the project will develop the capacity of PGCB in financial management, and in drone utilization to improve operations efficiency.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF ADB
The Accountability Mechanism is an independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an Asian Development Bank-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the Accountability Mechanism, they may investigate to assess whether the Asian Development Bank is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. You can learn more about the Accountability Mechanism and how to file a complaint at: http://www.adb.org/site/accountability-mechanism/main
