According to the IFC, the proposed investment is a Risk Participation Facility (RPF or the Facility) of up to US$500 million equivalent, to be equally split between IFC with own account participation of up to US$250 million equivalent (IFC Participation Amount), and Natixis and its affiliates (Natixis CIB, or the Bank) retaining the balance on a portfolio of loans financing for infrastructure companies and assets within a pre-approved selection criteria in Asia, Oceania, Latin America and Europe (the Reference Portfolio) with the capital preserved from the Facility aimed to be redeployed to finance energy transition and digital infrastructure loans in emerging markets (EMs) globally and mostly in Asia (the Redeployment Portfolio).
The guarantee under the RPF will be structured to comply with the directive for guarantees under the EU capital regulation requirements (EU CRR).
As stated by the IFC, the Project consists of an RPF between IFC and Natixis CIB whereby IFC will provide up to US$250 million equivalent of unfunded risk protection on the Reference Portfolio of at least US$500 million equivalent. The total capital preserved is aimed to be redeployed for a Redeployment Portfolio of US$375 million equivalent, an amount equivalent to 1.5 times the IFC Participation Amount.
