According to the Bank’s website, the proposed transaction is an equity investment of up to €50 million to MidEuropa Fund VI SCSp. The Fund is a closed-end private equity (PE) fund to be domiciled in Luxembourg with a target size of €800 million. MidEuropa VI will target mid-market companies in Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”).
The Fund will focus on consumer, services, healthcare and technology sectors in Poland, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) as well as the Western Balkans (Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania). Potential E&S risks and impacts are typically associated with occupational health and safety, life & fire safety issues, labor and gender issues, waste management, and working conditions. The Project is expected to have limited adverse environmental and/or social risks or impacts that are few in number, generally site specific, largely reversible, and can be readily addressed through mitigation measures and as such the project has been categorized as FI-2 in accordance with IFC Sustainability Policy.

The Fund’s general partner will be MidEuropa VI GP S.a.à r.l. (the “General Partner”). The Fund’s portfolio manager will be MidEuropa VI Management Limited (the “Fund Manager”), who will receive investment advice in respect of the Fund from MidEuropa LLP (“MidEuropa” or the “Fund Advisor”).
