According to the Bank's website, the project provides finances to the Ministry of Finances to fund infrastructure development in the southern part of the Kabul river basin to increase the availability of ground water in Kabul.
The project has four outputs (i) Kabul basin managed aquifer recharge infrastructure operational, (ii) capacity of the communities and staff developed in water monitoring and management, (iii) aquifer protection zone/s performing, and (iv) legislative and regulatory reforms available.
Involuntary resettlement is likely to be required.
