According to ADB website, the ADB is working with Indonesia to strengthen the electricity grid in Sumatra. The project is supporting the government's 35 gigawatt power generation expansion program and assisting in efforts to reach the remaining 16% of the Sumatran population with no access to modern energy services.
The project's impact will be the quality of life in Indonesian society enhanced by the sustainable use of electricity as a key driver of increased economic activity. Electricity Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), 2015-2024.
