As stated by the IFC, the proposed investment is a corporate loan of up to US$18 million to East Can Solutions LLC to finance the development of a greenfield aluminum cans manufacturing plant, with a projected annual production capacity of 550 million cans increasing to one billion after three years of operation. The project is to be developed in the Saidovul area of Tashkent, within a new Special Industrial Zone (SIZ). The project enabling works commenced in April 2024 with a construction contractor commissioned by the Company. The commissioning of the new plant is planned for June-July 2025 and operations are expected to commence in August 2025.
As stated by the IFC, Mr. Shuhrat Ergashev, a respected Uzbek entrepreneur, wholly owns the Company directly and indirectly.
