According to EBRD website, the EBRD would extend a sovereign loan of up to EUR 1.0 million to the Kyrgyz Republic, to be transferred to Kara-suu City for the benefit of the Kara-suu Water Company for improvement of water supply and selected wastewater services. It will provide a grant in the amount of EUR 3.3 million to co-finance implementation of the sub-project. Additional co-financing in the amount of EUR 1.0 million is expected from an IFI.
The overall objectives of this sub-project are to: (a) rehabilitate the water supply and selected wastewater improvements; and (b) improve financial and operational management. The technical cooperation assignments are: Feasibility Study for the Kara-suu Water Sub-project, Audit and restatement of the financial accounts, Project Implementation Support to the Company and Corporate Development Programme and Stakeholder Participation Programme.

ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF EBRD
The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)-financed project. If you submit a complaint to the PCM, it may assess compliance with EBRD's own policies and procedures to prevent harm to the environment or communities or it may assist you in resolving the problem that led to the complaint through a dialogue with those implementing the project. Additionally, the PCM has the authority to recommend a project be suspended in the event that harm is imminent.
