Project Description

This project provides additional financing to construct grid-connected Solar Photovoltaic power plants on the outer islands of Tonga.

This project is also funded by a US$ 3.57 million grant from the European Union and a US$ 0.75 million grant from ATF Second Denmark Renewable Energy. The on-grid portion of the project will be implemented by Tonga Power Limited, the sole energy provider in Tonga and a 100% state-owned enterprise.
