IFC is providing a loan to Adeco Agropecuaria S.A., Pilaga S.A, and L3N S.A. (jointly referred to as “Adeco” or the “Company”), which are IFC clients since 2016. Adeco is currently investing in the expansion of its dairy production capacity as well as in further downstream dairy integration in Argentina. The company has requested IFC to extend an A/MCPP Loan of up to US$100 MM to finance: (i) the expansion of its milk production facilities (two new free-stalls in the Santa Fe Province); (ii) the acquisition of two milk processing facilities and brands from local cooperative SanCor, located in the cities of Morteros and Chivilcoy; and (iii) upgrade investments in the acquired facilities including energy efficiency retrofits and climate/green investments which will result into lower energy/water consumption and lower emissions, and help the company achieve its sustainability goals (the project).
ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM OF IFC
The Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who believe they are likely to be, or have been, adversely affected by an IFC or MIGA- financed project. If you submit a complaint to the CAO, they may assist you in resolving a dispute with the company and/or investigate to assess whether the IFC is following its own policies and procedures for preventing harm to people or the environment. If you want to submit a complaint electronically, you can email the CAO at CAO@worldbankgroup.org. You can learn more about the CAO and how to file a complaint at http://www.cao-ombudsman.org/
