As stated by the DFC, the Fund will invest in climate-focused growth businesses, seeking to scale and accelerate green growth in Africa, protect livelihoods from the effects of climate change and support Africa’s contribution to global net zero goals.
Predominantly focused on lower-middle-income countries, the Fund will seek investment opportunities across renewable energy, food and agriculture, green transit and logistics, resource efficiency, and climate enablers. The Fund Manager will build on its deep expertise in Africa to make control investments in growth-oriented companies.
As stated in the project disclosure document, DFC equity investments into Investment Funds who will support investments into SMEs are screened as a Financial Intermediary B (FI-B) for environmental and social assessment.
As stated by Bloomberg, Helios Investment Partners LLP operates as a private equity firm. The Company focuses on leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, joint ventures, seed stage venture capital, restructurings, and equity investments. Helios Investment Partners serves clients worldwide.

Unlike many other development finance institutions, DFC does not currently have an access to information policy.
Under the United States Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), DFC is obliged to respond to reasonably formulated requests for Agency records. However, DFC may apply exemptions from release to certain types of information and may charge fees in responding to requests.
