According to the IDB Invest, the objective of the transaction is to provide financing to Banco Industrial El Salvador, S.A. ("BIES" or the "Bank") through the subscription of unsecured senior debt tokens, denominated in Dollars of the United States of America ("US$"), issued by BIES, for up to US$50 million, with BID Invest as the potential lead investor/subscriber. The transaction seeks to fund BIES's loan portfolio in El Salvador through an innovative tokenized debt structure, approved under the regulatory framework of the Republic of El Salvador, placed on the Digital Exchange ("DAX") platform, the digital arm of Grupo Bolsa de Valores de El Salvador, as a Digital Asset Service Provider, under the Salvadoran digital assets framework supervised by the National Commission of Digital Assets ("CNAD," for its acronym in Spanish), the competent State authority for Digital Assets, mainly for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise ("SME") portfolios and possibly Women-led SMEs. With this transaction, BID Invest reaffirms its support for technological development and innovation in El Salvador.

The Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism (MICI) is the independent complaint mechanism and fact-finding body for people who have been or are likely to be adversely affected by an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) or Inter-American Investment Corporation (IDB Invest)-funded project.
