Project Description

El proyecto consiste en un préstamo senior A/B sin garantía de hasta US$200 millones, que se otorgará a Banco del País ("Banpais" o "el Banco"), con un plazo de hasta cinco años a partir del desembolso. BID Invest financiará hasta US$50 millones del préstamo (con la posibilidad de un tramo adicional no comprometido de aproximadamente US$50 millones), mientras que el resto (aproximadamente US$100 millones) será cubierto por uno o más participantes externos. La implementación de una asesoría técnica proporcionada por BID Invest se evaluará junto con Banpais, con el fin de fortalecer las capacidades del Banco en relación con la cartera objetivo. El principal objetivo del financiamiento es ampliar las carteras de crédito y el financiamiento del Banco hacia proyectos enfocados en pequeñas y medianas empresas (incluidas las mujeres emprendedoras) en Honduras. La transacción también podrá complementarse con recursos de financiamiento combinado del fondo We-Fi, destinados a fomentar el acceso al financiamiento para las pequeñas y medianas empresas (PYME) propiedad de mujeres.
