Project Description

The Project consists of a senior unsecured revolving Working Capital facility of up to US$7 million to support further growth of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises ("SMEs") in Suriname. The growth trajectory is underpinned by Suriname's anticipated economic growth expected to initiate from 2028, which is set to boost the Gross Domestic Product ("GDP"), government revenues and employment, presenting significant opportunities for a strong expansion of the financial sector and local entrepreneurs. It is expected that this project will contribute to the growth of Trustbank Amanah loan portfolio, especially in the agricultural sector. The project strongly aligns with IDB Invest's mandate to catalyze private sector development in underserved markets.
