Project Description

The operation consists of a credit facility granted to Liberty Telecomunicaciones de Costa Rica LY, S.A. ("LCR") to finance the acquisition of 5G spectrum, the expansion of its mobile network, and the deployment of fiber-to-the-home (the "Project"). The Environmental and Social Due Diligence ("ESDD") included a review of technical and sustainability documentation, previous supervision visits conducted by IDB Invest, and virtual meetings with LCR staff to assess the implementation of its Environmental and Social Management Systems ("ESMS").

As part of the Project's commitment to human rights, zero tolerance for retaliation, and the promotion of a safe environment for raising concerns, the ESDD also considered the review of the company's key policies, including its Code of Conduct, the Business Partner Code, and the Workplace Gender-Based Violence Policy.
